By Linnda Durre
“I want to be in a scary horror film!” Morgan Lambert yelled. “That’s my dream!” And then the 9 year old acting prodigy let out a blood curdling scream that could have shattered the sound barrier!
Freddy Kruger, Jason, and Hannibal Lecter beware!
Her shriek will scare YOU!
Morgan has been studying acting with renowned Orlando acting coach Shauna Bartel, and creative drama with Jean Calandra at the Patel Conservatory at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. She was featured in the film, “Burial at Sea,” directed by Joe Knee and produced by Robert W. Sterrett III.
“I love to memorize lines!” Morgan enthusiastically and immediately rattled off one of her scenes from the upcoming film festival short, “Roped,” directed by Alexia Jordan, and written and produced by John LeRoy, both of the University of Tampa. Morgan plays a Girl Scout named Hope, who is knocking door to door, selling cookies, when she inadvertently interrupts Adam’s suicide attempt, bringing light and hope to a down and depressed young man on the edge of ending his life.
“She usually knows everyone’s lines as well,” her mother proudly stated in wonder. “She’s in the third grade now and when she was in the second grade she was is reading on a sixth grade level.”
Morgan’s TV appearances include six episodes on the children’s TV show, “The BJ Teddy Bear Club,” produced by MAGS Entertainment and distributed by MarVista; by executive producer Mark Riddle and producer Amine Bitar. The show is aired on the Inspiration Network Channel 364.
Morgan’s six episodes included: “Where in the World,” “Growing Up Me,” “Clouds,” “Rain,” “At The Playground,” and “It’s Getting Messy.” “She loved every minute of the shoot,” declared her mother.
Morgan has appeared in a Ringling Brothers Circus commercial, one directed by Jim DeRusha from Image Rocks. She also shot footage for a commemorative DVD in which she may be featured and which may be released later this year for the Zing Zang Zoom Tour.
She’s also featured in the Value-U-Vet commercial, directed by Ted Johnson for Bright House. Morgan was a runway model locally for Sears in Lakeland and she has appeared in Shauna Bartel’s CAST News Letter.
Morgan garnered some local Internet news when she and her parents were on a cruise on the far side of Cuba and she threw a bottle with a note in it overboard just to see where it might end up. Sure enough, five days and 500 miles later, on October 22, Rosemary Jackson, a 31 year veteran special education teacher from Southbury, Connecticut was strolling the beaches of North Palm Beach, reminiscing about the first anniversary of her husband's death. She was visiting her mother-in-law and was deliberating if she should put some of her husband's ashes in a bottle and set it out to sea near Turtle Bay, where the couple was
married. She walked three miles north to Juno Beach where she found a green bottle, a bit buried in the sand.
In the article entitled, “Message in a Bottle,” Morgan was interviewed by Judy Kahler for The (Lakeland) Ledger. To see Morgan’s photo and read the article, go to the link: www.Theledger/article//20081201/NEWS/812010391
Morgan’s first theater appearance included the lead in the Christmas play complete with puppets at All Saints Academy. Proving to be an extemporaneous pro at an early age, Morgan’s first improv experience occurred when she was an audience member at the Space Show at the Kennedy Space Center and was asked to come on stage where she successfully dialogued with all the actors in the show on the spur of the moment. “I liked doing it and I had fun! I wasn’t scared at all!” she replied confidently.
Morgan loves to sing and has been studying voice at the Patel Conservatory with Liz Stewart, at the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center. Morgan loves to dance and especially likes Hip Hop. She studied at Florida Dance Company and at Art In Motion Academy of Dance in Lakeland with Jennifer Davis who remarked “Morgan is very energetic, focused, and she likes to interact and talk to the other girls. She likes to do everything! She’s like a little star!”
Morgan studies piano and theory with Susan Willis. “I like to play all things on the piano,” said Morgan.
She has a cute sense of humor and loves to tell jokes and do magic tricks. “I’ve learned to whistle for an hour without stopping!” she bragged and proceeded to whistle.
Morgan also enjoys the trampoline, roller skating, Heely Roller Skating – and she can even skate backwards.
Adept at horseback riding, she also learned to ride a camel at the Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa and she loves to ride roller coasters.
Her swimming and snorkeling have enabled her to extend her commercial appeal and she loves to go fishing and boating as well.
Morgan claims she has no fear of animals or most bugs – “I like to play with animals and I have two dogs named Spotty and Ginger, two goldfish named Goldie and King, and a turtle named Tootsy,” Morgan recounted.
And she’s adept at driving ATVs, scooters, go carts, and golf carts, which should enable her to get even more films, commercials, and TV roles.
Morgan currently attends third grade where her teacher and principal have been very flexible and understanding about her auditions because her grades and testing have been so high.
Tim Lambert, her dad, is a real estate agent and broker with his own firm, Lambert Real Estate in Lakeland, and her mother Michelle was the founder of a marketing company. marketing company. Her managers are Bernie & Suzanne with Lax & Company in Hollywood and you can contact them at 213-400-1000.
